The Comicbook Artists Guild, L.L.C., founded in 2000, is a network dedicated to the education and support of comic book creators, writers and artists alike, regardless of amateur or professional status, skill levels or talent divisions. Currently, CAG has over 100 members and operates membership chapters out of New York, New England, and Nebraska, with interest in opening more chapters continuing to grow. CAG’s goals are to advance the medium of comics through the creative experiences of its members by bringing them together on projects of their choosing, while perpetuating the positive aspects of the comics industry and its continuing contribution to popular culture. Through this CAG works toward giving the comic book medium a good reputation into the community. Despite the name, CAG membership is not limited to artists. Instead, CAG attempts to reach out to everyone who shares the common interest of comic book and cartoon art and other artistic possibilities and promotes independent comic book artists and their creations.  As part of its mission, each year CAG produces together an anthology that highlights CAG members stories and art. Last year, several CAG members have combined their talents to produce ICONIC, a critically acclaimed graphic anthology featuring several public domain characters. That work continues in ICONIC 2 as well as World’s Beyond, an illustrated prose novel.
